From the President's Desk...

The yearling sales are in full swing with excellent results being achieved by our members in both states. The market for trotters has been flat so all eyes will turn to the Nutrien sale to see if buyers are waiting to grab one of the 60+ trotters on offer there. The pacing side has been relatively strong with NZ & Nutrien Sydney sale achieving some excellent results.

HBV were pleased to see the announcement of the Kerryn Manning Triple Crown for trotting mares announced  recently. The idea was put forward by HRV (and honed by the HRV racing team) as part of a suite of proposed additions to mares winter scheduling that was first expanded last year. We look forward to continued racing opportunities for a range of mares classes of both gaits across winter which sees a lull in high quality racing. We  encourage HRV to provide details around this programming so that owners and trainers can plan their mare’s campaign.
