From the President's Desk...

HRA have announced the Eureka Slot Race and the intended stallion levy that will go with it. HBV is very disappointed that HRA have ignored feedback from HBV and other breeding associations around the country that there is almost no support for the concept of the levy. It is apparent that the levy has not been the subject of any independent feasibility or modelling and as such, HRA are flying blind as to what the outcomes of such a levy may be. HBV continues to engage with HRA to attempt to have them understand the ramifications of their decision.

In more positive news, HBV extends its congratulations to all of the winners at the VHRC Night of Nights held recently at Crown Palladium including Gordon Rothacker Medalist Brian Gath and our long serving committeeman John Campbell and breeding matriarch Helen Head, who were awarded Distinguished Service Medals.

HRA Eureka Series

President Nick Hooper spoke on the slot race series this week with Dan Mielicki on RSN Central's Green Light On program - you can hear the full audio here.

John Campbell

Congratulations J Campbell!

Our long-term committeeman & ASBA representative John Campbell was recently recognised with a distinguished service award at the industry Night of Nights - our congratulations to John and Kay Campbell on a well-deserved honour.
