The 2023 season Victorian Breeder Awards are underway

Every year we look forward to recognising the achievements of full HBV members in the previous season, starting with the Nutrien Equine Time Excellence Awards and the Haras des Trotteurs Group One Performers. The announcement of the Ian Daff Memorial Award winner for tenured service to the Victorian breeding industry will be made at the opening of the Nutrien Melbourne yearling sale this Sunday, and the presentation of our premier awards - the Woodlands Stud Victorian Breeder of the Year, the Benstud Victorian Pacing Broodmare of the Year and the Aldebaran Park Victorian Trotting Broodmare of the Year - will be made at the Harness Racing Victoria Industry Awards night. Following this even, our championship awards, thanks to Minitube Australia, Northern Rivers Equine Veterinary Clinic, Renown Silverware and Australian Pacing Gold, will be announced but unfortunately this event has been postponed from the original April date to June, so we’ve got a little waiting to do!

For now though, let’s celebrate our Nutrien Time Excellence Awards top achievers - these horses each recorded a time of 1:56 or TR1:59 or faster across the season for the first time for their HBV member breeders - a full list of the 139 horses to achieve this feat will be published with all results in June. We also recognise breeders whose horses achieved great heights in 2023 with the Haras des Trotteurs Group One Performers awards.
