From the President's Desk...

Congratulations to Bill and Anne Anderson who were named our Woodlands Stud Victorian Breeders of the Year for 2022 at the HRV Awards at Crown held recently! HRV produced an excellent night which celebrated some wonderful achievers, highlighted by Chris Alford’s Gordon Rothacker medal. Congratulations to members who bred (and perhaps still own) successful horses of the year in the various categories.

We are looking to bring back Breed to Succeed in 2023. See below for preliminary details with more to come as our sub-committee led by Clyde Little and Dr Kath McIntosh pull together the various components. Our thanks to Ian McDonald and the team at the Shepparton HRC for hosting the evening.
After many hurdles and pivots, we are pleased to finally be bringing breeders from across Victoria the opportunity to come together, network, socialise and most importantly learn! As well as an expert panel discussing ways to make the most of your breeding investment and journey, you will have the opportunity to talk with industry suppliers through the trade expo, enjoy some refreshments and win some great prizes. More details will be released in the coming months but for now - make sure your membership is up to date, encourage your friends to join and mark this date in your calendar.
2022 Season Victorian Breeding Awards

Congratulations to Anne & Bill Anderson, our 2022 Woodlands Stud Victorian Breeders of the Year. With an outstanding list of horses, they achieved amazing things across the season and we look forward to seeing what Lauriston Park can produce this year. Thank you again to all of our sponsors across our awards program and well done to all those who collected trophies. A replay of HRV's Horse of the Year Awards event, including the Breeder of the Year presentation, will be up HERE.

Our Horse of the Year winners are showcased below along with an interview with our 2022 Ian Daff Memorial winner, Dr Tony Britt. You can watch interviews with our 2022 Victorian Broodmare of the Year winning breeders along with a listing of all the results on the 2022 results page on our website HERE.

A Great Vicbred Member Story

As a new member, Brett Smartt was pretty happy to have won our members' draw for a free service in 2017 but without a mare to match to Alabar's Auckland Reactor, what to do? Follow the story of Brett's breeding journey in this terrific story from Harness Racing Victoria HERE.
