HBV’s 2022 season awards program has started…

Each year, Harness Breeders Victoria looks forward to recognising the achievements of our members for the previous season. Our awards schedule and program has changed this year - take a look below and keep an eye on our social media and this website for more stories.

We start with the Nutrien Equine Time Excellence horses - these are the top three Vicbred-eligible member-bred horses in each gait who recorded a new sub-1:56 or sub-TR1:59 time in 2022:

The winner of the Ian Daff Memorial Trophy and the Victorian Broodmares of the Year, and the Victorian Breeder of the Year nominees will be announced at HRV’s Ian Daff Memorial Race Night at Tabcorp Park Melton on Saturday 18 March:

Aldebaran Park Victorian Trotting Broodmare of the Year nominees and winner
Metro Print Ian Daff Memorial Trophy nominees and winner
Woodland Stud Victorian Breeder of the Year nominees

APRIL
The following awards will be announced at the 2022 Harness Racing Victoria Horse of the Year awards at Crown Palladium on Sunday 30 April.

Woodlands Stud Victorian Breeder of the Year winner
Championship trophies will be awarded to the breeder where HRV’s Horse of the Year in the twelve categories are Vicbred-eligible horses and the breeder was a financial member for 2022

HBV, in partnership with Barastoc and Nutrien, sponsor the Nutrien Equine Best Presented Yearlings, awarded to four preparers for the best presented colt and filly of each gait at Oaklands Melbourne. These awards will be made following the Woodlands Yearling Parade on Saturday 1 April.
