We’re now fully in the countdown to the announcement of our 2021 Woodlands Victorian Breeder of the Year at HRV’s Horse of the Year event on Sunday!

Our three nominees are:

There were three Group 1 and two Group 2 wins to come from Durham Park-bred runners in 2021. Of their best stock were Act Now (GR1 Victoria Derby & Breeders Crown), Idyllic (GR1 Gold Chalice), Naturac Prince (GR2 Home Grown) and Treasure (GR2 State of Origin).

Anne & Bill Anderson, Lauriston Bloodstock
An incredible six Group 1 wins for the Lauriston bred runners of 2021, with an additional four Group 2 and a Group 3 win too. Their best horses for 2021 were Ladies In Red (GR1 Victoria Oaks & Breeders Crown), Honolua Bay (GR1 Vicbred Final), Hurricane Harley, Beach Music, Just Hope (GR1 Gold Tiara) and Irish Black Label (GR1 Gold Bullion).

The Judd Family, Benstud Standardbreds
The team at Benstud produced four Group 1 winners in 2021, as well as a Group 2 and three Group 3s. Catch A Wave (GR1 Breeders Crown), Tough Tilly (GR1 APG Final), Jay OK, Patsbeachstorm (GR1 NSW Derby) and Lightning Dan (GR1 Gold Crown) were their best Vicbred runners in 2021.

Outstanding efforts from all three nominees and we’re pleased to be able to showcase all of them before the winner is announced on Sunday.
