Thanks to Woodlands Stud, Harness Breeders Victoria have a service to champion North American horse, DOWNBYTHESEASIDE, to offer for tender to discerning breeders.


A son of the proven champion sire Somebeachsomewhere, the 16hh DOWNBYTHESEASIDE was a World Record holder in his own right – the equal fastest 2YO in pacing history at 1:49 and the fastest on a half-mile track. He as named the Dan Patch 3YO Pacing Colt of the Year after securing victory in the Milstein Memorial, the Art Rooney and the Matron Stakes to collect a staggering $1.6M in stakes for total career earnings of $2.17M. His first foals are due this season, having been exceedingly popular with breeders in his freshman stud year.

The Tender closes on Friday 18th October at 5PM with the winning bidder announced at the 2019 IRT Victorian Breeder Awards on Sunday 20th October

Conditions of Tender
The tender will close on Friday 18th of October 2019 at 5pm. Minimum bid is $3,960 (60% of the advertised service fee). All tender forms must be signed. The highest bidder will be the successful tenderer. In the case of a tied tender, a ballot will be conducted by the HBV committee. The service must be used with an Australian-based mare. Tenders are subject to a Live Foal Guarantee. Tenders are NOT pay on live foal. Tenders are for the provision of semen only; all other costs (i.e. agistment, vet fees, semen transport etc) are the responsibility of the successful tenderer.  Futurity scheme eligibility is the responsibility of the winning bidder. HBV takes no responsibility for tenders that are not received as intended, either by email or post (i.e. non-delivery, late delivery). Winning tenderers will be notified with a phone call on Monday 21 October and receive a confirmation email - payment is required within seven days of this date and is payable to Harness Breeders Vic. If the successful tenderer has not paid within 14 days, the service will be offered to the next highest tender.
