After moving up to her 'private suite' (paddock) on the weekend, Gracie started to show signs that the foal was imminent and Alabar staff kept a careful watch. On the morning of the 24th, Gracie very generously waited for daylight before delivery a health baby filly. Stud master, Dale Forbes, explained that the birth went very smoothly - always a concern for a maiden mare (a mare who has not yet had a foal) - and she was up on her wobbly legs and taking a drink from mum in no time at all.

The next challenge is find our little girl a paddock name until she's old enough to graduate to a 'race name'. Each Foal Follower can enter two selections for the filly, and the winner will be selected by a panel of Alabar staff.
ENTRIES close at 3PM on Sunday 18 November and a winner will be announced in the following week. The submitter of the winning entry will receive a prize pack and of course have the honour of the filly having their chosen name!
